Wednesday, 10 May.  Our luck on the hotel room finally ran out, and both we and the Brown's had to pack everything up, put it in the baggage room, and vacate our rooms. After breakfast, with the Brown's and Jones', we caught a train at Paddington Station to go to Windsor. We walked all over the grounds of Windsor Castle, went through the state apartments, saw the elaborate doll house, completely furnished, and visited St. George's Chapel, home of the Knights of the Garter. Across the Thames was Eton College and. on a large field just below Windsor Castle, we saw the dress rehearsal for the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

We left the Castle and browsed through a couple of antique silver shops in Windsor, then had lunch and caught the train back to London. On the way back to the hotel we visited Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. It was interesting, especially the chamber of horrors in the basement, but it wasn't really anything spectacular.

Back at the hotel, we still didn't have a room when we returned. Neither did the Brown’s. Finally at 19:00 we got another room and moved in. Roy and Lucy could only get a single room, but they took it. Then all of us took a cab to the Prince of Wales Theater to see "The World of Suzie Wong." It was enjoyable, but not quite like the book.
